I Found the Most Epic Outdoor Bathtub in California (And It's Hidden in the Woods)

My dreams of escaping city life for a California road trip became a reality this month. We loaded a truck to the brim with everything a baby needs and more. Then we set out for an adventure in the forests of California. Between the pack-and-play and a 1000 diapers, our family was ready for an outdoor adventure.

Late one night on a VRBO scroll fest, I stumbled across this picture perfect outdoor bathtub. As an avid bath enthusiast, I was captivated, I booked right away. Nestled in the redwoods, a fairy tale clawfoot emerged from an ivy cliff face. In this moment, I realized this was not going to be just any rental.

Driving to the cabin was an adventure in itself. Passing through charming towns where residents seemed to live for the outdoors. We ventured deeper and deeper into the forest. Finally, we arrived at a cozy cabin nestled in the towering trees. Sunlight flickered across the roof. It was giving Edward Cullen vibes with the perfect splash of Californian tranquility.

The cabin itself is lost in time, in the best way possible. The wood paneling and record player (The Beatles -White Album), it is an absolute treasure. Perfect amount of space for a small family. The property overlooks a stunning aqua river that has a trail down from the cabin. The place is stocked with games (charades, personal fav), all things kitchen, and a wood burning fireplace! (Aka the cozy dream).

The Outdoor Bathtub

The bathtub itself was as dreamy in person as pictured. The cool mountain air and scenic views, this bathtub was the absolute best. I felt right out of a Disney movie bathing in this. It was also so cozy being in the cliff side tucked under the ivy. My dog Sadie kept me company while I tubbed the day away.

We visited in January, but the best time to visit would be warmer months when you can utilize the river. Pack a swimsuit. If you are looking for a good bathing suit, I got mine from Knix, great variety for moms. Also, bring a good pair of shoes to walk the property. Make sure to book in advance, as this place books up!

The property is a perfect getaway from the city. Sometimes the greatest pleasures in life are the times spent in nature with your family. I now need to convince my partner to install an outdoor tub at our house.
