Afternoon Tea Time Essentials for the Most Perfect Cozy Party

A Cozy Afternoon Tea
One of the greatest things to throw together for last minute company is an afternoon tea. It is the perfect balance of low key, cozy, and a touch of warmth. You can put out a variety of sweets treats, savory baked goods, and different spreads. Tea is also an easy pantry item to always have on hand.

Setting the Afternoon Tea Scene
Choose a charming spot in your home. It can be the dining table or even outside, if the weather is on your side! Layer a variety of linens to cover your table. You can mix and match whatever you have on hand. One of my favorite places to find linens is the thrift store or estate sales. There are always truly unique pieces there! I love to choose a pattern, as these can hide unforgivable stains.
For decor, opt for soft lighting with candlesticks or even fairy lights to add some magic. You can add some simple flowers like baby’s breath or tulips to give the space some life. Then add your dishware, utensils, treats, and teas.
Afternoon Tea Fare
A keynote for an afternoon tea is to think light not heavy. This is not a full sit down meal, but a little baked treat and maybe some fruit. The main focus is the tea itself. You can offer your guests any tea from Earl Grey to Peppermint. Additions to offer your guest for the tea can include lemon slices, honey, sugar, and cream.

The Perfect Hostess Gift

If you find yourself invited to an afternoon tea, you can prepare the perfect hostess gift. Use the essentials listed below. As a person who loves to host, a new cookbook is the ultimate gift. Martha Stewart’s new cookbook has some brilliant recipes. These recipes include Brown Butter Shortbread Cookies, Lemon Sugar Cookies, Strawberry Shortcake, Tarte au Fromage, and Cranberry Tart. You can pick a single item or create a lift gift basket! Just something that shows a little love for the host.
